Sif Lina Lambæk (1993) was born in Copenhagen and grew up by Ådalen in Hornsherred. Since 2015, she has written and directed several short films, most recently the personal and magica realistic 00s work “HALBAL”, which was selected for the Odense International Film Festival and nominated for the FilmFyn Talent Award.
Sif has a background as a TV director and has worked with both documentaries and fiction. At Super16, she hopes to explore the intersection between these two genres and create films with an authentic nerve, relatable characters and a powerful visual language. At the same time, she is preoccupied with mixing the vulnerable with the humorous and exploring the tragicomic.
On an artistic level, she is inspired by situational and personal mood swings and she is fascinated by magical transformation, transition and situations where everything changes. Sif is therefore drawn to magical realism, the gothic and the supernatural, where the human’s dark side is free to express itself. She is also inspired by everyday life, the countryside and the close relationships.
As a filmmaker, Sif's most important tool is her sensitivity, which she uses to create films that can be felt in the body and seeks to give the audience a physical experience. She is interested in sensuousness and all that simmers beneath the surface. Sif dreams of making films that others can reflect on and often translates personal ideas into universal stories with a societal perspective.
