The Danish-Algerian director Sabrina Ferguen is born and raised in Bolbro, and has been working with films since 2017. The first years as an actress, but when the desire to create kept on pushing, she started making her own short films and theater performances. A course at the Copenhagen Film and Photography School confirmed that this was her right element.
Since then she has directed a number of short films, music videos and most recently wrote and directed two seasons of the children's/youth series KLASSEN on DR Ultra produced by BBC Nordic.
Sabrina insists on being brave and curios, and refuses to jump over where the fence is lowest. She loves creating a strong visual expression with nuanced characters, preferably with room for humor. Film gives her the opportunity to investigate, provoke and hopefully push people's way of thinking in some way.
Honesty is highly appreciated. She herself is terribly bad at lying and often expresses herself directly. She thinks it is connected to being extremely ambitious, not only on her own behalf, but also on behalf of others - telling people what they want to hear, produces no development. However, she is also the first to shout with excitement when something is great.
