Interaction and perception are key factors when Michael creates a story. He is fascinated by how human actions, or the lack of the same, are driven by inner desires, dreams, and emotions that are challenged by an external environment. He likes to work within the fine line between tragedy and comedy as well as mixing realism with humour, irony and the surreal. Precisely this mixture matches his personal perception of our existence here on the blue planet. An absurd but equally wonderful feeling. In addition, he is fascinated by the dark sides of the mind and loves a good scare.
He grew up in Køge, a provincial town which has given both good and bad experiences. The European Film College was his first real encounter with film production. After the school, he had a naive belief that he wanted to save the world and he therefore gave law school a chance. However, Michael missed humanism as well as the film world. He therefore switched to Film and Media Studies, from which he has a master's degree. Alongside his studies, he has been a reader and a producer assistant at Nimbus Film, he has written and directed short films, made web series and documentaries, and taken a semester at Boston University College of Communication.
