Malik feels like a stranger in Sweden after his family fled there from Iraq. In Sweden he is bullied and often gets into fights at school. When Saddam Hussein is hanged, the family decides to move back to Iraq, which excites Malik as he can now finally feel at home somewhere. Soon after arriving, however, Malik begins to feel the same strangeness that he did in Sweden. It begs the question: What is home and what does it really mean to belong somewhere?
While at work, the dutiful caretaker Ellis is sought out by his long-lost sister Mira. Under the guise of being in training as a caretaker, she comes with him to work. Throughout a hectic workday, they try to find each other again, through a confrontation of old traumas, open wounds, and unrequited sibling love.

Det er historien om Alma, der har forladt København og sin spirende musikdrøm for at flytte tilbage til Århus, og som i mødet med sin tidligere bandkammerat Anders, konfronteres med sit valg om at have forladt bandet samt sin tiltagende angst for at spille musik. Det er en film om småeksistentielle kreative kriser i startyverne, at turde blotte sig selv samt hvad musik kan for os mennesker. Det er en film om de små ting, de små beslutninger og de små realisationer.
